Turn your initial village into a bustling medieval city in Manor Lords, a strategy game that puts you in the shoes of a feudal lord. Inspired by the art and architecture of Franconia at the end of the 14th century, the game prioritizes historical accuracy to create an authentic, colorful, and believable world. Forget grids: construction is completely free, and the growth of your settlements follows the logic of real towns, where the landscape and trade routes shape every decision. From a central square, develop residential, commercial, and industrial districts adapted to the terrain: establish farms where the soil is fertile, place hunting grounds near animal populations, and secure access to forests and resource deposits. Assign plots according to the historic burgage system and watch your residents build their homes and extensions to farm, raise livestock, or produce essential goods, all while facing the demands of each season, from spring rains to harsh winters. The economy is deep and varied: from boots and barley to hides and honey, you must manage complete production chains, transporting raw materials and transforming them into finished goods. Balance your people's basic needs with the desire to craft luxury items, trade goods, or weapons and armor for conquest. Resources are scattered across the map, encouraging you to expand and create specialized settlements—mining colonies, farming villages, or communities dedicated to herding and hunting. But uncontrolled expansion has environmental consequences: deer migrate, soil loses fertility without crop rotation, and excessive logging causes deforestation. Establish trade routes, sell surplus to itinerant merchants, and use the wealth generated to improve homes, import what you don't produce, and fill your coffers through taxes. Your territory is only a small part of a vast region, and the ambitions of rival lords will inevitably lead to conflict. Your soldiers are not disposable units: they are loyal subjects whose deaths are a real loss to your town. Recruit a guard of expert warriors, call up the local militia, or hire mercenaries at great cost. Lead tactical battles in real time, considering fatigue, weather, and equipment—a smaller force can defeat a larger army if commanded intelligently. Every fallen soldier is felt, even in victory. Manor Lords is a passion project started by a solo developer and turned into a major team effort; your feedback, ideas, and critiques are welcome and heard.
